The cup-belt system accommodates standard seed grades from approximately 28–55 mm. Cup size and belt speed are adjustable to optimize singulation for your specific seed size distribution. Larger or irregularly shaped seed may require cup size customization — contact us with your seed specifications.

Q2: Can I adjust the planting spacing?

Yes. In-row seed spacing is adjusted by changing the cup-belt speed relative to ground speed. Standard potato spacing ranges from 20–40 cm depending on variety, market (ware vs. seed), and target plant population. Row spacing is adjustable via the implement toolbar — standard 75 cm with options for 80 or 90 cm.

Q3: Does the PANTHER 4-Row include a fertilizer hopper?

The PANTHER 4-Row is designed for maximum seed throughput with a large 1,200 kg seed hopper. It does not include an integrated fertilizer hopper. For simultaneous fertilizer application on 4 rows, pair it with a front-mounted or separate-pass fertilizer applicator such as our ADB-480.

Q4: Is the insecticide tank included standard?

No — the insecticide tank is an optional add-on available in 200 L (2-row) or 300 L (all models) configurations. The planter can be ordered with or without this option. It can also be retrofitted later if your crop protection needs change.

Q5: How many hectares per day can the PANTHER plant?

At 75 cm row spacing and 4 km/h average speed: the 2-row covers approximately 4–5 ha/day, the 3-row covers 6–8 ha/day, and the 4-row covers 8–12 ha/day (8-hour working day). Actual output depends on refill frequency, field shape, and turning time.

Q6: Should I prepare the field before planting with the PANTHER?

Yes. The PANTHER performs best on properly prepared seedbeds — ploughed, cultivated, and stone-managed ground. On stony fields, we recommend first using a stone crusher, rock rake, or rotavator to create an optimal planting surface. The PANTHER then plants into this prepared seedbed for the best results.

Q7: What fertilizer types can the hopper handle?

All standard dry granular potato fertilizers: NPK compound, potash, urea, DAP, and blended products. The metering mechanism adjusts for different granule sizes. Liquid fertilizers are not compatible with the hopper system.

Q8: What tractors are compatible?

Any tractor with a Cat 2 three-point hitch and sufficient power: 85 hp+ for 2-row, 100 hp+ for 3-row, 125 hp+ for 4-row. The rear axle must support the empty weight plus seed, fertilizer, and insecticide payload. Popular models include John Deere 5E/6M/6R, New Holland T5/T6/T7, Case IH Farmall/Maxxum, Kubota M6/M7, Fendt 200/300/500, and Massey Ferguson 5700/6700.

Q10: What maintenance does the PANTHER require?

After each planting season: inspect and replace worn cup-belt cups and chains; check furrow opener and ridging disc condition; flush fertilizer hopper and metering mechanism with water; flush insecticide system thoroughly; grease all bearing and pivot points; inspect all bolts, pins, and adjustment mechanisms; and store under cover with protective grease on bare metal surfaces.
